Partly, yes. From the site you can record a sixty-second video for your future self and watch capsules people send you: all you need is a browser and an email address. The app is for the rest: longer videos, sending to other people, groups, and keeping them all in one place.
Your videos are not stored on your device; they live in your cloud account. Download Lumideo on your new phone, sign in with the same account, and everything is exactly where you left it. No capsule is lost.
No. It’s the heart of Lumideo: once sealed, nobody can open it early, not even you. The opening date is final. If you sent it to someone else, they can’t open it early either.
Only you and the recipient you choose. Videos are encrypted both in transit and while stored. Nobody on our team can watch the contents of your capsules.
It’s a fair question. Videos are stored on Google Cloud Storage, the same infrastructure behind Google Drive and YouTube. If the service closes, we will notify everyone at least 90 days in advance and provide a way to download their videos.

Yes, and they don’t have to sign up for anything. They get an email right away telling them who sent it and when it opens. On the day, a second email arrives with a link: they open it and the video plays in their browser, no app needed. The app is only for replying, or keeping them all in one place.
Not while it’s sealed: it stays as it is until the day you picked. Once it has opened, the person who sent it can delete it, and it’s gone for everyone, video included. The recipient can’t delete it, but can write to us and we’ll remove it.
The difference that matters is distance: on the free plan capsules reach two years ahead, with Premium twenty. Free also gives you two-minute videos and thirty capsules a month, while Premium takes that to ten minutes per video and seventy-five capsules, for €3.49 a month or €24.99 a year. And if you just need a few more, you can buy capsules in packs without subscribing.

My name is Fabrizio D’Urso. I’ve been writing software for sixteen years and I built Lumideo on my own. There’s no marketing department and no investor waiting to resell your data.
On the stores and at the bottom of this page you’ll see Proapptiva S.R.L.S: it’s the small company that publishes the app. I designed and built Lumideo, and I’m the one who answers the emails.
